7 Steps on How to Repair Email on Outlook

How to Manually Repair Email on Outlook, Set Up IMAP, and Change Your Password

Microsoft Outlook is a powerful email client that allows users to manage their emails efficiently. However, issues may arise, requiring you to manually repair your email account, configure IMAP settings, or change your email password. This guide walks you through these processes step by step.

1. Manually Repairing Your Email Account in Outlook

If you are experiencing email issues such as failed synchronization, missing emails, or sending/receiving errors, follow these steps to manually repair your Outlook account:

  1. Open Outlook and go to File.
  2. Click on Account Settings and then select Account Settings from the dropdown menu.
  3. Choose the email account you need to repair and click repair on top, click on advanced options, check on let me repair the account manually check box and click repair.
  4. Update the incoming and outgoing mail server settings manually:
        • Set Incoming server (IMAP) to 993.

    Select SSL as the encrypted connection.

        • Set Outgoing server (SMTP) to 465.

    Select SSL as the encrypted connection.

    • Username: Your full email address.
    • Password: Your email account password.
  5.  Ensure My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication is checked.
  6. Click Next, and finally Finish.
  7. Restart Outlook and check if the problem is resolved.
