HOW TO CREATE A CNAME RECORD ON THE CPANEL

A Canonical name (CNAME) record is a type of DNS record that determines where the pointing of a  domain  to using a domain name. A CNAME shouldn’t point to an IP address, rather it should point to a domain name

1. Login to the cPanel, use the URL that was provided i.e. yourdomainname.co.ke/cPanel, then enter the cPanel login details to access the cPanel.
2. On the cPanel search for ‘zone editor’.

3. In the new window add CNAME by clicking on CNAME button or edit existing ones by clicking manage button.

4. On the pop-up window enter CNAME record then click ‘Add CNAME Record’
