HOW TO CREATE A CNAME RECORD ON THE CPANEL
A Canonical name (CNAME) record is a type of DNS record that determines where the pointing of a domain to using a domain name. A CNAME shouldn’t point to an IP address, rather it should point to a domain name
- Login to the cPanel, use the URL that was provided i.e. yourdomainname.co.ke/cPanel, then enter the cPanel login details to access the cPanel.
- On the cPanel search for ‘zone editor’.
- In the new window add CNAME by clicking on CNAME button or edit existing ones by clicking manage button.
- On the pop-up window enter CNAME record then click ‘Add CNAME Record’
